Well I love her
But I love to fish
I spend all day out on this lake
And hell is all I catch
Today she met me at the door
Said I would have to choose
If I hit that fishin' hole today
She'd be packin' all her things
And she'd be gone by noon

Well I'm gonna miss her
When I get home
But right now I'm on this lakeshore
And I'm sittin' in the sun
I'm sure it'll hit me
When I walk through that door tonight
That I'm gonna miss her
Oh, lookie there, I've got a bite

Yeah, me too. But I wouldn't want to play a McPherson guitar, I'd want me a D.E.Williams!

Life is good for Brad...great career, lovely wife, a new baby on the way, and a bunch of CMA awards.

Oh!
AND you get to sing duets with Alison Krauss.

I'd sure like his guitar playing skill (What's that?...Practice, you say? I'll have to think about that).

Yeah, it's not natural for a guy to play those kinda licks and sing/write so well too! I have the hot wife, just not the ability or the income...come to think of it..if you take away Brad's looks, income, talent, and ability...you got ME!    I must be a Brad Paisley in the rough!

Don
Thanks, like I stated it's slightly off kilter (like it's maker).
I do think if I use layout lines that I will be able to make a decently symmetrical scroll. The body was made without the use of a mold and is very slightly asymmetrical also.

Serge, if I where to talk much people might realize that the only thing I know is, I know that I don't know what I think I know. In other words, I cut the spine off of a back-saw and used it to cut the sound board, sides, and bottom even though I have two bandsaws.

Brad sorry about the hijack, sometimes You have to admit your slighly nuts to the community your in but you want to do it quietly as possible. If you start a thread such as K.O. Should forever stay a walnut I'll get the msg. Oh yea Ya got the looks talent and all that but I still want to be Hank Jr.

Hey Kirby, my first guitar was made with oak and cedar plywood and i still managed to show it here, i'm pretty sure some people laughed out loud mind you but they quickly offered sympathy and support to this poor Bear!

Cheers

Serge One of my favorite Guitars as a teen was a Kay have heard a few people play them as If they had found it's soul.

I tried to get treatment for for the Hank Jr condition but they told me to go have a beer and relax.

Right now I'm because I'm stuck.

The tone faerie told me my bridge design was to heavy,

kneeling faerie on each side,

roughed it out, they didn't like it,

I think they are mad,

they won't show me a violin-ish one I like.

I actually do want to share more, such as construction concepts and methods and invite discussion in order to further edjamacate myself but am not feeling well so will put off till tomorrow.

Serge do you think Alan would think it presumptuous of me to want to call it a Cascadian Dulcimer.

Wonder if he has a 20 month layaway plan? , I want one of his Ozarks.K.O.39056.0329976852

First or second?

Actually they are linked, Alan CRAFTS a dulcimer model he named Ozark.

I want one but disposable income is low only way I could get one is layaway.

I am trying to come up with a different type of dulcimer one more suited for Blues/jazz, traditional dulcimers have a tendency to be slightly nasally. I live on the eastern slopes of the Cascades hence wanting to call mine a Cascadian dulcimer.

Being similar in naming style might indicate to some that I put myself on a level with him and such is not the case.
Would definatly want his Input and suggestions when I explain my construction concept and methods. His approval of the name would mean a lot to me.

Sorry if this reads a little disjointed am not feeling well yet.K.O.39056.2642592593

Now i see, hey man, don't worry, i understand. First thing would be to PM him and describe where you're coming from and what you aim at,talk with him about it, luthiers are understanding people and love to share and help, i'm sure Alan would offer you great support and guidance towards your goals or even provide you insight that you hadn't thought of in the first place.

Furthermore, we have other people here who also build dulcimers, Dave White from UK is one name that comes to mind so i would not hesitate to announce yourself on the main forum and tell the great bunch of folks there that you seek help or approval, it's all good, just don't be a stranger buddy, we're all here because we love the craft and there ain't no other craft where sharing is so vital.

Hope this help?

Regards

Serge
